The ever increasing complexity of DB2 zOS access paths can lead to reduced consideration of them by developers with little time to keep up with all this. Coding and checking to achieve access path goals can, however, be a powerful tool to ensure the performance and quality of the SQL. This session explains our method to deliver this by setting simple rule of thumb goals for our coding and implementing systematic checking.

1. Access paths MIA
2. Simple access path goals
3. Coding to achieve the goals
4. Checking and optimising the access
5. Examples and Summary
